Activities and Programs

Worship Services - worship services are held at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings and on other days during special seasons of the church calendar, primarily on Wednesday morning and night during Advent and Lent. Contact the church at 281.445.2203 to find out about special services held on days other than Sunday mornings.

  • Ushers - These volunteers collect the offering during the service, direct members to communion, distribute bulletins and help with the needs of families during the church services.
  • Prayer Warriors - volunteers who pray throughout the service, for congregation members present, for those absent, for the pastor, for all serving the church during the service and for any special prayer requests.
  • Lay Readers - these volunteers read the Holy Bible readings on Sundays, prior to the Pastor's reading of the Gospel.
  • Children's Sermon - these volunteers prepare a brief children's sermon, usually an object lesson, based on one of the Bible readings of the service.

Sunday School - one-hour time on Sunday mornings during which classes are offered for children, youth and adults to study and learn about the Bible, Christianity, church history, Christian behavior in daily living and various other topics.

Bible Study - held 10 a.m. on Wednesdays with a variety of topics. Contact the church at 281.445.2203 for current information.

Choir - this group is made up of adult volunteers and sings in the choral sections of soprano, alto, tenor and bass. Some choir members also perform solos at services. Those who play musical instrumentals are also invited to join the choir.

Elders - The Board of Elders has the authority and responsibility for the spiritual welfare and activities of the congregational members, individually and corporately. Each elder has a set of congregation families and keeps in touch with these families.

Care 'n' Share - a monthly gathering of fellowship and activities for those who have lost their spouse. This group meets usually meets during the day on a weekday. Contact the church for more information.

LWML (Lutheran Women's Missionary League, also called Lutheran Women in Mission)

  • LWML meets on the first Monday of the month at 9:30 a.m.
    • Altar Guild - these ladies maintain the altar paraments and candles and they prepare and clean up after Holy Communion.
    • Sewing Circle - these ladies meet regularly to sew and enjoy fellowship together
    • Shawl Ministry - these ladies meet to knit shawls. The shawls are prayed for and then given to selected people, such as those in the hospital.

Youth Group - consists of youth from the sixth grade through seniors in high school. The youth meet for activities, watch Christian movies, go on mission trips and serve the church in special programs.
